Adolf Hitler ruled Germany from 1933 to 1945. A combination of factors, events, and ideas shaped his personality, turning him into the man who instigated the Second World War and orchestrated the mass extermination of millions. During the final days of the war, secluded in his private bunker, he performs his last act in complete isolation. Still obsessed with the "Oedipus complex" that cast a shadow over his childhood, he engages in a dialogue with his mother—the only person who ever called him “Adi” with affection and truly believed in him. Devoid of remorse or regret, he remains unaware of the catastrophe that is closing in on him. He feels no fear at the impending defeat of Germany, nor at the prospect of his own demise. He remains captivated by his own destiny.
