A wealthy novelist is struck down by a heart attack. His will has yet to be opened, and a cast of greedy and disgruntled heirs sets the tone for this farce – as comical as it is fierce.

An innocent yet hilariously clueless housekeeper, a young widow who recovers rather too quickly, a daughter married to a sham son-in-law, a neighbour keen to exploit the situation to enlarge his flat, an irritable undertaker, and a banker — all cynical, amusing characters — form a lively and self-interested circle around a coffin that hasn’t yet been closed... with a corpse... who isn’t quite as dead as he seems!
